Hans Niemann Withdraws From Freestyle Chess After Being Added to the Wrong Group Chat
Hans Niemann has dramatically withdrawn from the Freestyle Paris tournament after he was mistakenly added to the group chat “Vibrate to Checkmate”.
The group included several prominent members of the chess community and was filled with inappropriate jokes that we cannot publish here. America’s greatest talent was disgusted with the content and immediately left, before withdrawing from the tournament entirely.
A spokesman for Freestyle giggled uncontrollably:
“We’re sorry, okay? This was intended to be a private group, where players above 2737 could freely discuss the issues of the day. And post a few memes. There was nothing fishy going on. Or stockfishy, am I right?”
Hans didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment but his coach, mentor and spiritual leader Vladimir Kramnik sent us a post-it-note saying “DISQUASTUNG”.
